Intel SSD FW Development Manager in Boulder, Colorado

Job Description

In this position, you will be an integral leader of the NSG FW development activities specifically leading the successful definition, planning, development and verification of FW for Intel's cutting edge SSD products. You will be both the FW leader for the products success but also the communication hub for all FW activities surrounding your products. This is an exciting opportunity to apply SSD & embedded FW technical knowledge, firmware development & verification methods and program management skills in planning and executing firmware development in a specific SSD market segment. As the product line manager your responsibilities will include but are not be limited to:- Working directly with product planners, architects and your firmware development & verification team to analyze new product definitions, identify FW design requirements and build out FW development strategies & plans resulting in the successful deliver to key customers.- Build a strong team with a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.- Through your leadership you will set clear expectations and hold team members accountable and incentivize proactive issue resolution to delivery world class products.- Facilitate all product management aspects of the assigned products including managing the backlog, schedules and coordinating all FW activities across the development teams to accomplish committed milestones.- Develop resourcing, development and sustaining transition plans.- Manage your team to continuously groom backlogs to ensure comprehensive FW response to dynamic product changes.- Ensure program roadblocks are identified, corrective action plans identified and executed to closure.- Identify and drive to closure process improvement efforts to improve organizational efficiency over time in the areas of deliverable quality, resource efficiency, code reuse, and development efficiency - Some projects will include responsibility to engage with external development partners including joint product planning requiring the candidate to manage complex partner relationships.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent- Eight or more years of practical management experience with a proven track record of managing complex engineering projects, delivering quality product experience to external customers- Understanding of embedded systems & FW development methods for embedded software- Managing projects through the entire SW product life cycle Nice to have: Agile/SCRUM development methods- Must be versatile and have the ability to adapt to new situations dynamically- Must have the demonstrated ability to listen, understand and respond professionally to partner/customer questions and/or issues- Must have demonstrated written and presentation skills- Must work independently, be proactive, multitask effectively and exhibit strong influencing and leadership skills with senior management
