Job Description

We are looking for someone passionate and interested in working in one of Intel's fastest growing segment. In this position, you will be responsible for thermal validation of Intel SSDs. The candidate will be the technical lead of a broader team responsible for thermal characterization of current and future SSD products.Responsibilities include characterizing thermal behavior of the drive and components using thermocouples, wind tunnels, and thermal chambers, optimizing thermal settings, reporting out design improvements and changes to light-switch settings. The candidate will also be involved with customer communications on thermal issues with Sales and Marketing. The position also means working with industry stakeholders to develop appropriate thermal workloads and validation capabilities to ensure our products delight our customers. You will drive the overall team technical direction in validation test development, thermal data analysis, and benchmark analysis/selection. Debug responsibilities will include analysis of thermal hot points, development of characterization tools and methodology, and quantification of performance/power/thermal tradeoffs.The successful candidate will work closely within the architecture team, System Integrator, hardware, firmware, and driver development teams. The candidate should have technical leadership ability, strong problem solving skills, and strong communication skills to interact with various engineering development teams. Qualifications

Candidate must possess a minimum of a Bachelor's degree with 7+ years' experience, a Master's Degree with 5+ years' experience, or a PhD with 3+ years' experience. Degree should be in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. Excellent ability to logically organize and clearly present experimental data is a must. Experience preferred in the following areas: - A strong technical background in heat transfer, thermal engineering, and test/validation techniques.- Healthy sense of paranoia for bugs and a strong sense of quality- Familiar with customer storage usage models for client and or data center - A deep technical background in either System or Platform design relating to passive and active forced air thermal solutions
