Intel Thermal Engineering Architect in Hillsboro, Oregon
We are seeking a dynamic individual to join the PSG's newly formed Programmable Platform Engineering PPE team as a Thermal Engineering Architect in the next wave of growth in PSG's Engineering Group in Oregon. As a Thermal Engineering Architect, this team member will be working in a cross functional engineering group i.e. board, system, thermal, mechanical, validation, SI/PI, etc. along with fellow PSG stakeholders, defining thermal solutions and innovations for upcoming platforms utilized for the power-on, validation, and platform development of PSG's upcoming flagship FPGA silicon devices. Additionally, this person will have the opportunity to define new & innovative thermal solutions and design guidelines for PSG's real-world application designs intended for Intel's strategic growth markets i.e. Cloud & Datacenter, Autonomous Driving, 5G, Telecom, etc. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to: - Architecting thermal solution designs that meet both internal and external thermal requirements- Working with key stakeholders to create and validate PDG Product Design Guide specifications that will be used for customer designs- Architecting a validation test plan utilized by the platform validation team- Analyze thermal test/validation data and correlate to thermal modeling
-You must possess a Bachelor of Science degree or a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field mainly related to Fluid Dynamics.
-Broad and deep design engineering skills with 2 years of working proficiency in thermal simulation tools Flotherm* or IcePak*
2 years and deep technical background in either System or Platform design relating to passive and active forced air & liquid thermal solutions
2 years of experience with definition, testing and statistical evaluation of thermal and mechanical experiments
A strong technical background in heat transfer, thermal engineering, and test/validation techniques of said solutions
Knowledge of CAD tools SolidWorks and/or ProEngineer
Knowledge of manufacturing processes including Injection Molding, Extrusions, Sheet Metal, etc would be an added advantage
