Intel HPC Fabric Engineer Intern in Hudson, Massachusetts
The candidate will support research and development into the communication characteristics of mathematical applications on various fabric computer network and inner connect architectures. The candidate will be a member of a small, fast-paced, multi-disciplinary software team working closely with network fabric architects. The software team is responsible for developing and applying methodologies to simulate realistic workloads on future platforms and influence architectural trade-offs. The team will also develop and port open source applications to the target environment. The team will also evaluate workloads applications on the fabrics as design alternatives are considered and implemented by the network fabric architectures. Other tasks include the development of software tools to monitor communication traffic on the hardware. This position involves work on a U.S. Government contract which may impose certain security requirements:

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.
Must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
Candidates must have the unrestricted right to work in the US without requiring sponsorship.
-Network/fabric software stack and Interconnect layers experience.
-PGAS/UPC and Open SHMEM experience.
-Programming-Experience developing, analyzing and tuning C/C++ scientific applications.
-Experience with SHMEM and/or PGAS programming models.
-Experience with high performance interconnection fabrics, InfiniBand or Intel OmniPath.
-Experience with distributed OS design, User Level Messaging Layers, MPI.
-Experience of threading and parallel programming models.
-Numerical methods in scientific computing skills.
