Intel IOTG SEG Engineer in Phoenix, Arizona
The Performance Measurement and Analysis team (PMA) within the Internet of Things Group (IOTG) is looking for a Performance Engineer to define and lead execution of performance tests as well as analyze results and identify performance bottlenecks in Server and Micro-Server Architectures for embedded workloads.
In addition to gaining significant insight into future system architectures and technologies, you will utilize state-of-the-art performance analysis tools and performance projection methodologies. The products covered include Atom SoCs for micro servers and Intel Xeon processors.
Responsibilities may be quite diverse in a technical nature and will vary significantly depending on the unique needs of the role, U.S. experience and education requirements.
The responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
You will provide data back to IOTG architects along with the owning division architecture teams to optimize the platform and drive micro-architecture enhancements for future architectures necessary for meeting stringent IOTG workloads
Develop and documenting segment specific performance measurement methodologies
Publish internal and external performance reports and papers
Performance Engineers design and execute tests, analyze results, identify bottlenecks that may negatively impact performance, adjust parameters or change support hardware /compute-component and then repeat the test suite to achieve maximum performance.
This is an entry level position and will be compensated accordingly.
You must possess the minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Relevant experience can be obtained through school work, classes and project work, internships, military training, and/or work experience.
You must possess a Master of Science degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field.
12 months experience in computer architecture and programming.
12 months of experience scripting and programming using languages such as Python
12 months experience with Linux operating system
Knowledge of Intel® architecture, PC system architecture and general micro-architecture concepts
Experience building a complete system from commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) components (motherboard, processor, DRAM, HDD/SSD, etc).
Familiarity with Intel® architecture platform and Intel® processors
Familiarity with Intel VT-x and VT-d silicon technologies
Familiarity with hypervisor technologies (XEN, KVM, Windriver Hypervisor)
Familiarity with PCIe drivers and device driver interaction
Excellent communication and documentation skills
