Intel Senior Platform Software Applications Engineer in San Jose, California

Job Description

In this position, you will be joining the Customer Experience Group within Intel Programmable Solutions Group (PSG) as an applications engineer specializing in platform software. A successful candidate will be responsible for the technical support and customer enabling for platforms and systems using Intel architecture processors and Intel FPGAs/SoC FPGAs.

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Customer facing technical collateral, application notes, design examples, demos and training for customers and Intel field applications engineers

  • Responsible for product design-in and debug support

  • Responding to customer technical questions

Qualifications

The successful candidate should possess a Master of Science degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering, or alternatively a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum five years of related applications engineering or system design experience. Minimum qualifications include: - Strong overall understanding of Intel Architecture and technologies - Strong understanding of FPGA devices, configuration methods and FPGA design software - Familiarity with debug and troubleshooting skills across processor and FPGA platforms - Strong understanding of platform SW including Boot software (UEFI or Uboot), BIOS and drivers - Strong understanding of Operating Systems such as Windows, Linux. - Familiar with PCIe protocol and software stack - Self-driven and ability to multitask effectively - Customer engagement experience and ability to create customer ready material, including strong technical writing and presentation skills - Exhibit strong influencing and customer orientation skills, with ability to listen, understand and respond professionally to customers, and discuss technical details at multiple depth levels. - Ability to travel internationally and domestically.
