Intel Technical Writer in Albuquerque, New Mexico
As part of the Non-Volatile Memory Solutions Group (NSG) Technology Development, you will be responsible for the identification, development and delivery of technical writing solutions that meet industry/Intel quality management system standards and enable NSG team-members to effectively access, learn and utilize the information required to advance Intel's future technologies. Additionally, you will collaborate with subject-matter experts and technical leaders across business groups to develop and improve documentation, eliminate "interpretive moments", and drive transformation through standardization across Intel.
Support the development of a quality management system (QMS) using ISO 9001 international standards and internal best-known-methods (BKMs), ensuring quality documentation that provably reflects and connects processes.
Plan, develop, organize, write and edit technical business processes, procedures, work specifications, flow-charts, job aids, training and certification documents that enable technical capabilities for teams across NSG Technology Development.
Research, develop and document technical design specifications, test scripts and process maps as required by NSG stakeholders and business partners.
Create and manage an online portfolio of technical documentation resources and assets. Produce electronic documentation and, as needed, hard-copy. Store documents in way which support end-user usability while protecting Intel's Intellectual Property (IP).
Partner with stakeholders, business group leaders, subject matter experts, engineers and technicians to identify and prioritize technical gaps and translate those informational gaps or interpretive moments into technical document solutions aligned to business strategies.
Manage updates and revisions to technical documentation and literature. Maintain a comprehensive library of technical terminology and documentation. Analyze documents to maintain continuity of style of content with focus on protecting IP.
Employ risk-based thinking and Plan/Do/Check/Act (PDCA) for continual improvement of process and documentation quality and efficiency.
Maintain consistent communication with key stakeholders regarding program metrics and progress. Discipline in meeting agreed upon deliverables and deadlines.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in English, Technical Writing, Literature, Communication, Engineering or related technical field OR 2+ years' experience in development of technical documentation and specifications with proven project management skills.
Proven experience in a technical writing position. Skilled in explanatory and procedural styles for multiple audiences. Strong attention to detail and skilled at prioritization and multi-tasking in a fast-paced technical environment.
Demonstrated history planning, organizing, and managing resources for successful completion of program goals; can work autonomously and successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously with matrixed, geographically-distributed teams and business groups.
History of building and managing stakeholder relationships, clarifing understanding of requester requirements (listening and critical thinking), and influencing the design and execution of technical documentation strategies and solutions.
Additional Skills or Competencies
Experience with semiconductor or related industry strongly preferred.
Employ strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to listen, question, interpret, and clarify in business and technical terms; ability to articulate and create succinct messages for technical audiences at varying seniority levels.
Proactively anticipate customer needs and possess a track record of delivering results and seeking innovative approaches to completing work.
Must know or be willing to learn the NSG business, how the functions fit together, how to build solutions that meet the needs of multiple groups, and coordinate across other managers; desire to learn high-level technical subject matter to speak confidently with business unit stakeholders.
Tools/Platforms: MS Office, Adobe Photoshop, SharePoint, Skype, and familiarity with content management systems desired. Experience developing content using Camtasia and/or Adobe FrameMaker/Captivate/Presenter/Articulate is a plus.
