Come and join us! Intel is seeking highly qualified candidates to join our Data Center Group (DCG) team as a Software Engineer Business Support Tools!

Intel's Omni-Path fabric team is seeking an experienced software developer to implement and maintain software tools in support of the Intel Omni-Path High Performance Computing HPC program. These tools include manufacturing process support tools, marketing and sales support tools, and software to support internal business processes. You will join a small team focused on enabling product manufacturing and sales and will have opportunity to guide and mentor peers on sound design principles from concept to deployment. In addition, you will participate in aspects of the overall product software lifecycle including defining requirements, implementing and maintaining customer specific features, software release processes, and compliance with Intel policies on intellectual property, licensing, and security.

HPC is an exciting and growing field deployed today by leading industry partners, government laboratories, and educational institutions worldwide to help solve the world's most challenging scientific problems including fusion energy, bio-medical research, physics, as well as traditional engineering such as aeronautic and automotive engineering.

Specific responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the delivery of:

-software tools to configure products in support of our manufacturing operations team.

-software tools to support field sales organizations in specifying detailed large HPC cluster configurations using next generation products currently in internal development.

-development, support, and content management for internal and external HPC product information portals.

-software development in support of OEM partners seeking to modify or enhance Omni-Path products ex. customization and/or feature differentiation, such as OEM-specific branding of GUI and command line interfaces.

-software legal compliance activities including assisting other software groups through the Intel software legal compliance process.

-scripting tasks to enhance and enable internal process efficiencies.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to work independently and thrive in a dynamic environment, while managing multiple tasks and interfacing with multiple organizations including hardware development, software development, test, manufacturing operations, product application engineering, sales/marketing, and customer support.

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

Bachelor degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent with 4 plus years of related industry experience, a Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent with 3 plus years of related industry experience, or a PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent with related industry experience.

  • 2 plus years of design and development experience including the following areas:

-C and C++ development.

-Open Source development and/or maintenance.

-Java development.

-Perl, Python, Excel, and other scripting languages.

-Linux and Windows based Operating systems.

-Web/HMTL development.


Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Assembly Language

  • RISC processors

  • Low Level Driver development, hardware interfaces

  • Board bring-up, test, and debug

  • Hardware/software integration

  • InfiniBand or another HPC interconnect is strongly desired

  • VxWorks or similar RTOS, including BSP development

  • Digital circuit design

  • UML and Object Oriented Design
