Manages a team of software professionals including but not limited to engineers, architects, technical writers and technical consultants who are responsible for delivering results over many areas of the software lifecycle: design, developing, debugging, validating, and optimization, customer engagement and product support. This might include systems software, drivers, high performance computing, development tools, enterprise applications, consumer applications or user interfaces. May also be required to provide architectural and technical guidance, and ensure that sound engineering practices are followed. Provides direction and goals to the group and interacts with stakeholders both internal and external.
We are seeking an experienced firmware/embedded software manager to join our team in Austin, TX. As a member of the Embedded Software Group, you will lead a team responsible for delivering key firmware solutions for the enablement of our programmable logic devices, including low-level libraries and support infrastructure for embedded processors. We are looking for the following minimum qualification:- BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering- 5 years of embedded development experience- 3 years of experience managing embedded/software teams - Good understanding of device drivers, RTOS, and bare-metal development in C and C++- Good understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures and algorithms- Experience with embedded microprocessors based on ARM, MIPS, and/or DSP cores. NIOS II experience is a plus- Good interpersonal and leadership skills- Self-motivated and ability to motivate and influence others- Experience working with cross-functional teams- Experience supporting teams in pre-silicon environment is a plus
