Intel System Validation Engineer in Austin, Texas

Job Description

The Atom validation team in Austin, TX is responsible for making sure Atom CPUs are functionally correct during the design phase. We work with RTL designers and architects to ensure no bugs escape to silicon. The complexity of our designs means that we have to create our own in-house toolset to be able to thoroughly validate everything. We're hiring for a position in our team for someone to help us maintain and expand the impact of these tools.

We're looking for someone with good problem solving skills, with a focus on the robustness and durability of the solution. On a given day, you might be:

  • Doing detective work to root cause the nature of a failing RTL test

  • Working creatively to craft a brand new tool or methodology

  • Collaborating with other validators, designers, or architects to determine what the right answer to a problem is

  • Researching and learning a new skill in the field of software development

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must have a Bachelor's/Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or similar field.

Minimum 6 months of experience with:

  • C/C++ skills

  • Unix, scripting, and automation

  • Computer architecture, including assembly coding

  • RTL design, Verilog, and simulation & debug tools such as VCS/Verdi

Preferred Qualifications:

  • STL/Boost

  • Perl

  • x86

  • Git
