Intel CPU Core Pre-Si Ver/Validation Engineer in Folsom, California
Ideal candidate will:
Develop pre-Silicon functional validation tests to verify system will meet design requirements.
Create test plans for RTL validation, defining and running system simulation models, and finding and implementing corrective measures for failing RTL tests.
Analyze and use results to modify testing.
Job responsibilities include:
Writing verification test plans, and then writing tests to execute those plans.
Development of verification collateral (such as behavioral checkers, coverage monitors, test generators or score-boards) is often required to enable test plan execution.
Successful verification engineers can anticipate failure modes, and write punishing test content to stress the design and identify bugs.
Candidates will need to:
Debug failing tests, then work with designers and architects to resolve bugs.
Analyze coverage gaps and devise strategies to fill coverage holes.
Use scripting skills to enable tool development and automation for verification efficiency.
The quality of the design and the final product is directly proportional to the quality of the design verification work.

Must have a BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or other science/engineering related field with 3+ years of experience.
Minimum of 1 year experience in pre-silicon verification and/or front end.
Minimum of 6 months experience with software/programming languages (i.e. C, C++, C#, Visual Basic/.NET. Perl, Python, Java, etc.)
Minimum of 3 months experience with System Verilog and/or VCS Simulator
Minimum of 6 months experience with computer architecture and microarchitecture
Experience with coverage driven validation
Experience in IP/SOC ASIC Validation
Experience in Specman E and/or System Verilog/OVM
Experience with software design and coding
Familiarity with x86 core architecture and instruction set is a good plus
