In VTT, we are passionate about delivering best-in-class visual experiences that enable users to immerse themselves in a new visual future. You will develop graphics, media, display & imaging solutions for a range of platforms from traditional PCs to high end datacenter servers.

The VTT Graphics Architecture team is seeking a Graphics Performance Architect for Intel's GPU. Specifically, you will work closely with architects, software/hardware engineering, Performance/Power teams and simulator experts. In addition, you will help us with the following responsibilities:

  • You will work on characterization of various workloads, identification of system bottlenecks, designing and modeling of features and configurations that improve power/performance while meeting platform constraints.

  • You also will assess the performance and efficiency of our new capabilities versus our previous products and our competition on a range of 3D Graphics workloads from benchmarks and real 3D games using various API: OpenGL, Microsoft DX, Apple Metal and Vulkan.

  • You will also define new features and architectural changes to address emerging usage scenarios and improve power/performance efficiency of upcoming Intel graphics products, starting from architecture definition, through modeling and analysis up to validation of performance features in final products.

  • Responsible for developing multiple aspects of graphics software, display driver development and simulation environment development.

  • Works with various partners to enhance graphics performance on upcoming Intel Graphics Products by analyzing performance issues in software drivers and applications, implementing software performance improvements, and recommending future hardware & software improvements.

  • Responsible for providing internal and external feedback to implement upcoming graphics features in yet to be released OSes to ensure our hardware and software will function and perform as expected on next generation platforms as well as designing/developing/implementing graphics system level software for future platforms.

Minimum skills and experience required for the job:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related engineering field.

8+ years of professional working experience in 3D graphics industry with track of completed commercial projects with externally visible results: shipped products, demos, patents, publications, etc.

7+ years of professional working experience in the following areas is also required:

  • Experience as a technical leader who can solve complex technical issues related to architecture, development or power/performance analysis of 3D/GPGPU products

  • Experience in C/C++ programming, including practical knowledge of simulation tools and environments for example SystemC, SimuLink, ModelSim

  • Deep knowledge of GPU hardware architectures

  • Good knowledge of 3D graphics theory, rendering algorithms and techniques used in games

  • Good knowledge of 3D API standards Direct3D, OpenGL, Vulkan, Metal

  • Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating system

Preferred skills and experience that will make you stand out;

  • Master of Science or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related engineering field

  • Knowledge of Performance and Power projections for Graphics @ IP and SoC level

  • Knowledge of SoC & Platform level product architectures

  • Knowledge of Android, macOS and iOS operating systems

  • Practical knowledge of scripting languages
