Intel IP System Validation Firmware Software Engineer in Folsom, California

The IP Technologies Group (ITG) has been delivering industry-leading IPs to all business units across Intel. In order to take advantage of the many opportunities that we see in the future for Intel Chipsets, ITG is looking for an extraordinary FW/SW Engineer to join our IP System Validation team.
As a FW/SW Engineer in our IP System Validation team (IP SV), you will deliver content for pre and post silicon validation of Security IPs. You will develop SW test infrastructure and content that is re-usable and automatable based on IP requirements. You will debug of both HW and SW failures and driving root-cause and solutions. You will also be responsible for the development of methodologies, execution of validation plans, and debug of failures.
Your specific role will include but not limited to:
Collaborate with IP architecture, design, and pre-silicon verification teams to gather requirements and develop test plans for new IP generations
Debug test failures using a variety of debug tools, characterization of the failure, root-cause to RTL line of code and bug fix verification
Develop creative solutions in the validation space in environments such as IP FPGA, SOC HFPGA, SLE (emulation), VP, Post-Si.
Plan and develop new test content and improve existing test content and capabilities (in C, C++, Assembly, Python)
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related
2+ years of industry experience in semiconductor, high-tech company, or related with the following experience (below):
Experience with embedded firmware or software development
Experience in low level programming, system architecture, operating systems, device architecture
Experience in both C and C++ and OOP concepts
Experience with processors, chipset, memory, I/O-subsystems, and bus protocols (ex. PCIe, SMBus, USB etc.)
Experience with scripting (ex. Python, Perl, TCL, Shell, etc.)
Preferred (Additional) Qualifications
M.S. Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline
Experience with embedded software development using Intel Architecture (ex. Intel x86)
BIOS development experience
Experience with Pre and/or Post Si System Validation
Experience with Early Prototyping (ex. Emulation, Simics, FPGA)
Experience with debug tools JTAG, Lauterbach, TLA, Oscilloscopes
