Job Description

The NSG Datacenter SSD Marketing Engineering Internship role offers hands-on and direct experience in cutting edge storage technology solutions. Specifically, the internship is an opportunity to learn about the fast-growing solid-state drive market and how it is changing the data center and enterprise based computing environments.

The intern will work primarily with the technical marketing engineering team to support competitive benchmarking, strategic planning, technical marketing projects, technical data collection and testing. Also, developing technical documentation or presentations for customers.

The role will involve shaping marketing messages by gathering product data and analyzing competitive products, and improving team efficiency through automation and process improvements.

This is a dynamic internship role that will allow the candidate to grow their skills in multiple areas. Work spans from technical marketing activities, engineering debug, and process automation.

The duration of the internship is targeted for a min 6 month and ideally 12 months of internship for Spring/Summer 2019 start.

Responsibilities may be quite diverse of a technical nature. U.S. experience and education requirements will vary significantly depending on the unique needs of the job. Job assignments are usually for the summer or for short periods during breaks from school.


You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences. This is an entry level position and will be compensated accordingly.

Minimum Requirements:

The candidate must be pursuing a MS's Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.

6+ months of experience in the following areas:

  • Computer Architecture

  • Python, Perl, VBA, or other scripting Language

  • Unix/Linux

  • Word, Excel, Power point

Preferred Qualifications:

6+ months of experience in the following areas:

  • Benchmarking Linux and applications like DB and virtualization

  • Storage system hardware/software in Windows or Linux data center/enterprise, Non-volatile memory characteristics, storage standards (SATA, NVMe, eMMC)

  • Technical fluency in debugging system issues that may be hardware, firmware, and/or application related (BIOS, OROM, UEFI, BMC)

  • Writing publications using Tex/LaTeX or similar

  • Visualizing data with Tableau or similar

  • JIRA, Confluence WIKI
