Intel 3D Graphics Performance Engineer in Hillsboro, Oregon
Intel's Visual and Parallel Compute Group seeks experienced graphics engineers to join our highly-collaborative team, as we deliver Intel Graphics Technologies with industry-leading features and best-in-class efficiency. Our 3D performance team is responsible for finding performance bottlenecks in both the GPU and CPU, and addressing them with innovative solutions. Our Oregon based team is responsible for the performance of Windows DirectX and macOS Metal workloads.
We are looking for experienced engineers to help us with the following responsibilities:
Analyze graphics hardware and software performance for current and future game titles and applications on existing hardware and future platforms.
Identify opportunities for driver, application, and hardware improvements and collaborate with world-wide teams of driver developers, hardware architects, application engineers, and ISV partners to enhance the performance and efficiency of Intel graphics.
Implement driver and application optimizations.
Gather data and develop proofs-of-concepts to evaluate hardware design alternatives and drive for adoption of performance optimizations.
Develop and deliver compelling presentations to senior management, architects, and business partners on performance studies and optimizations.
Follow emerging trends in 3D graphics, including key algorithms, APIs, engines, hardware architectures, and use cases.
Bachelors in Computer Science or a related field with 6+ years industry experience, or a MS in Computer Science or a related field with 4+ years industry experience, or a PhD in Computer Science or a related field with 2+ years industry experience.
Your experience should be in the following:
2+ years of C++ programming experience
Experience developing applications, drivers, or rendering engines using one of DirectX, Metal, Vulkan or OpenGL
Knowledge of the 3D graphics pipeline, shaders, and modern rendering algorithms
Knowledge of GPU and CPU architecture
Experience analyzing either software or hardware performance and developing improvements
Knowledge of compilers and compiler optimizations
Experience developing production software in an organization spanning countries and cultures
