Job Description

The Next Generation and Standards (NGS) group in Technology, Systems Architecture & Client Group is looking for a Software Engineer for Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology development over 5G.

The candidate is responsible for AI technology research, design and PoC development related to AR/VR/MR/Robotics/Automotive/IIoT.

The candidate is expected to bring domain knowledge on Machine Learning, Deep Learning, CNN, RNN, and Natural Language Processing for image/voice processing.

It requires theoretical research work on new emerging area combined with hands on implementation. The job duty can involve Standardization activities or Open Source contributions. Analytical ability to assess risks, identify issues and resolutions to meet project goals.

Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills in English.

Work with SW Architect towards resolution of technical issues with cross-functional teams.

Escalate issues in an appropriate and timely manner.


You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.

Minimum Requirements:

  • The ideal candidate must have a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent discipline.

  • Minimum of 2+ year experience in:

C/C++/C# development experience. Hands-on implementation is required.

AI research/algorithms/prototypes related to AR, VR, Video coding and/or image processing.

Debugging skills.

Software development and configuration management tools (i.e. Agile, Git, teamforge, Gerrit, JIRA, SCRUM).

Preferred Qualifications

-Experience with the specification of various types of neural net architectures in TensorFlow and/or Caffe

-Strong technical skills on neural networks, decision trees, clustering, pattern recognition, deep learning, supervised learning & unsupervised learning.
