Intel Close and Reporting Accountant in Hillsboro, Oregon

Job Description

As an Accountant in the Corporate Close and Reporting organization you will serve as an accounting expert and resource responsible for:

  • Leading and supporting a variety of cross-functional projects frequently involving Tax, Legal, Treasury and other key stakeholders

  • Consult on accounting and business impacts of complex business decisions and corporate restructures

  • Play a key role in assessment of accounting processes and controls, and operational matters with regards to large and medium integrations or divestitures resulting from Merger & Acquisition activity

  • Drive the reduction of legal entities in a major corporate initiative by leveraging cross-functional teams’ expertise to identify and deploy innovative solutions specific to a broad array of global regulatory and legal environments

  • Apply US GAAP accounting treatment and coordinate Statutory GAAP accounting treatment for restructures driven by existing and new tax strategies and contingencies

  • Preparation of journal entries related to restructuring and elimination activities, as well as development of related accounting journal templates for posting by Shared Service Accountants and other staff accountants

  • Design and prepare journal entries for complex accounting transactions involving the opening balance sheet for acquisitions, merger transactions, and other equity transactions

  • Coordinate with local entity accountants to understand and communicate US GAAP and Statutory GAAP impact of integrations, divestitures, purchase accounting and corporate restructures

  • Drive Business Process Improvements across the global accounting organization and actively monitor process health through excursion and key performance indicators (KPI)

  • Utilize data-driven tools such as PowerBI and build advanced models to drive legal entity decision-making and influence accounting leadership

  • Respond to accounting and business inquiries from the global accounting organization

  • Develop and present transition change management (TCM) materials for M&A-driven integration/divestiture and restructures activities and ad-hoc matters

  • Competency with a broad variety of systems capabilities (SAP a plus), and an ability to drive global systems initiatives

Qualifications

This U.S. position is open to U.S. Workers Only. A U.S. Worker is someone who is either a U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, U.S. Lawful Permanent Resident, or a person granted Refugee or Asylum status by the U.S. Government. Intel will not sponsor a foreign national for this position.

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Bachelor of Science or Master of Science degree in Accounting or Finance

  • 3+ years of accounting or finance experience

  • Experience with MS Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)

  • Experience with complex corporate transactions (restructuring, merger, acquisitions, etc) a plus

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with applied accounting and financial analysis, US GAAP and working knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification

  • SAP experience
