Job Description

As a Facilities Thermal Engineer, you will play a significant role in helping to develop, operate, maintain, and repair industrial Water Recycle facility system (WATR) in a 24x7 manufacturing environment. Results are delivered through the application of engineering skills and tools, systematic problem solving, statistical validation of system performance, collaboration with the facilities technicians, peer engineers, equipment suppliers, key stakeholders, through in-depth understanding of the operating systems to determine and ensure compliance to existing standards and processes.

Furthermore, colleagues will follow your lead in planning, design, reconfiguration, construction, maintenance and modifications - everything that goes into supporting Intel's most valuable manufacturing facilities.

Our WATR facility will be the process Intel will use to recycle our industrial water from our manufacturing process and help enable Intel to reach our water usage goal.


Minimum Qualifications

  • BS + 4 yrs. exp.; MS + 3 yrs. exp. in Mechanical Engineering or other equivalent Engineering degree from an accredited university.

  • 4+ years of experience:

  • With crystallizers.

  • Large-scale manufacturing/ mechanical engineering facility services support.

  • Identifying, analyzing and solving immediate issues with technical equipment.

  • With mechanical (pumps, piping, valves, and other) and control (instrumentation, PCS and other) systems.

  • Working with 3rd party vendors to optimize performance.

  • Performing thermal measurements and validation.

  • With thermal test equipment including analyzers and data loggers.

  • Communicating technical concepts verbally or written to technical and senior management audiences.

  • Ability to work and adapt in a rapidly changing environment with minimal supervision.

  • Possess a strong personal focus on safety for themselves and those around them.

  • Experience with Statistical Process control.

  • Experience working in a production environment and/or with other facilities process systems.

  • Experience commissioning Mechanical equipment such as pumps, boilers, chillers, HVAC units and compressors.

  • Experience with project planning, coordination and integration.

  • Demonstrated ability to professionally present to peers and leadership at site at cross-site meetings and actively participate in cross-site tasks as directed.
