Job Description

Responsible for identifying and researching component failures to improve product yield, quality and/or reliability. Evaluates the electrical and mechanical characteristics of integrated circuits, components, sub-components, and systems to determine the root cause of failure. Analyzes failure reports and recommends corrective action to prevent reoccurrence of problems. Uses all standard electronic test equipment (digital/analog) such as Logic analyzer, ICE, ITPO oscilloscope and test systems to do board failure analysis and debug. May support new product transfer and startup and the automation and improvement of the failure analysis process. Strives to proliferate shared learning across sites. Maintain necessary records and reports. Performs other related duties as required or as directed.

Length of Internship: 6-9 months

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Enabling tools to debug next generation processors

  • Doing fault isolation and failure analysis on next generation processors

  • Interacting with product engineering and/or design teams to understand product implementation and/or limitations to develop fault isolation tool capabilities

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

-The candidate must be working towards an MS/PHD degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.

  • Minimum of 3 months experience in test-ability and design for test.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in use system-based testers or ATE testers.

  • Experience of analytical tools such as IREM, LADA, LVP, and ELITE

  • Experience withVLSI design, fab process, and device physics.
