The position is part of the Extreme Scale Software Pathfinding group. The team is responsible for the strategy, architecture, and prototyping of high-end HPC computing ideas. We are tightly coupled with other HPC organizations in Intel to leverage the work needed for extreme scale in order to bring value across the broad HPC ecosystem.
What you'll do
As part of the Intel Extreme Computing Organization (ECO) pathfinding team, you will use your broad C and Python programming skillset and experience to create the next generation of HPC control systems. Your work will focus on developing and extending the broadly-used open source PMIx standard.

You will also be expected to:
Work with architects to help understand future requirements
Develop and implement ideas generated by the team in C and Python
Work closely with the product integration teams to ensure smooth transfer of PMIx technology into Intel products
Work independently on development tasks and have a high sense of ownership for your work
This position involves work on a U.S. Government contract which may impose certain security requirements: If you are a U.S. citizen, the government may require that you certify that you are a U.S. citizen. Minimum Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent with 4+ years of relevant software development experience OR a Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent with 3+ years of relevant software development experience.
2+ years of experience in the following:
Python programming experience
C/C++ systems programming experience
project experience of standard software development practices (requirements, design, development, validation)
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
Integration of Python and C
Experience with Cython
Experience with HPC
Experience working in open source communities, leadership roles in open source a plus
Familiarity with git tools
Interest in learning about software systems engineering for HPC.
Effective communication skills.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Ability to Pass the US Government security check - if not a US Citizen.
