Intel Lead Open Stack/Open Infra Architect in Hillsboro, Oregon
Intel’s OTC team is seeking a Lead OpenStack/Open Infra Architect.
You will lead the overall engagement in OpenStack across the diversity of projects in the community. You will engage directly with technical and non-technical leaders at customers and partners to influence architectural decisions that maximize Intel value. Meet with senior engineering architects across Intel to drive consensus in upstream enabling approaches. Work with program management to derive architectural schema into engineering sprints. Help drive Intel influence in the community to enable OpenStack's success in the industry for the long term. Thrives in ambiguity and loves putting structure around the vague. Willing to take risks as the prominent technical face in the community and negotiate consensus to move the community forward. Willing to pivot as business needs or community priorities shift. Lastly and very importantly is a generous mentor to other engineers, investing time in their development/working through hard problems. Make high level design choices for the software structure, frameworks, protocols, and algorithms. Determines coding practices, development tools, and validation requirements. Performs path finding and surveys technologies. Interacts with multiple technologists in the company and within the industry as well as between developers and project managers to evaluate feasibility of requirements and determine priorities for development
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through relevant previous school, industry jobs and/or research experience.
BS in Computer Science or related technology field
Deep OpenStack expertise (or other scalable IaaS platform)
5+ years of experience as Solutions Architect, Cloud Architect, Systems Engineer, Open Source developer
Credibility/demonstrable participation in the Open Source community
Experience working for a Cloud Service Provider
Comfortable hosting conference technology sessions/speaking to technical audiences
10+ years of relevant industry experience
