Job Description

This individual will lead a team of server IO architects in developing IPs and subsystems for Xeon server processor SoCs. The responsibilities of this role include: * Develops innovative solutions for new problems and/or develops innovative improvements to existing solutions. * Identifies, analyzes and resolves sub-system and/or SoC design and architecture weaknesses. * Determines, specifies and evaluates the viability of complex hardware features and structures, and ensures that software and hardware designs interface correctly. * Influences the shaping of future products by significantly contributing to the architecture used across design families. * Negotiates IP and sub-system feature sets with SoC architecture leads and planning leads.* Creates documentation to capture hardware architecture for the benefit of SoC design teams and supports these SoC design teams in their implementation efforts. * Directly manages the architects in the IO architecture team, focusing on both day to day deliverables and individual career development.The ideal candidate should have strong problem solving skills, as well as strong written and verbal communications skills.


20+ years of overall computer engineering experience.10+ years of experience directly related to IO architectureDemonstrated experience in computer architecture in general, and I/O architectures such as PCIe specifically, ideally with knowledge of multiprocessor cache coherency.Exposure to design, validation and performance analysis toolsPrevious experience managing direct reports.
