The Infrastructure Research Lab/Telecom Systems Research (IRL/TSR) in Intel Labs is an innovative research group that works closely with Intel product groups, industry partners and academic research communities to drive technology advancements and business impacts. The group researches and prototypes advanced network system architecture to transition today's networking infrastructure onto high volume Intel Architecture (IA) based platforms through a combination of software-defined networking (SDN), network-functions (NFs) operating in virtualized or containerized orchestrated environments and new hardware extensions to IA-based platforms.
We are looking for highly motivated system and platform architects who will be responsible to analyze network architecture and platform limitations covering aspect from capacity, throughput, latency, jitter, to quality of services, when operating in scalable, high-performance, virtualized or containerized environments, and design network system architecture and platform enhancements for such environments. In this role you will be required to investigate, analyze, simulate and/or prototype proposed networking and/or platform system features and collaborate with internal and/or external partners to evaluate and bring advanced networking system design to life.

This is an entry level position and will be compensated accordingly.
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.
Candidate must have a PhD degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
+1 year of experience with:
Network architecture development including system analysis, problem decomposition, analysis of how network systems work
Linux, C/C++, and scripting languages like Python
Experience of modern Intel platform architecture, including recent platform advancements in CPU microarchitecture, cache and memory including QoS, cache IO, virtualization, etc.
Protocols and device architectures (NICs, routers/switches, load balancer, NAT, firewall, etc.)
