Security and Privacy Research (SPR) in Intel Labs:

SPR delivers industry leading innovations to raise the trustworthiness of Intel platforms. We create and deploy the best of breed combined hardware and software defenses that give consumers and enterprise the peace of mind that their personal data, corporate information and IP are protected. Working closely with processor, platform and system software architects across Intel, we define the next generation end-to-end security solutions. Finally, we also partner with top academic researchers worldwide to pursue disruptive research in security and privacy.

Current Research Initiatives:

Trustworthy Execution, Anti-Malware, Secure Machine Learning, Cryptography, Resilient Autonomous Systems, Cloud Security, Privacy, Data Protection for Client, Edge and the Cloud.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Responsible for early research, design and development of security and privacy in Intel's hardware and software products and services.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Threat assessments, design of security components, and vulnerability assessment.

  • The candidate investigates the feasibility of applying scientific principles and concepts to potential inventions and products typically several years prior to landing on a product roadmap.

  • Plans and executes laboratory research. Ensures products conform to standards and specifications.

  • Develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education, judgment and formal processes.

  • Maintains substantial knowledge of state of the art security principles, theories, attacks and contributes to literature and conferences.

  • May participate in development of intellectual property.

Minimum Requirements:

The candidate must possess a PhD degree in Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering with a focus on Security .

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to design and execute on a research agenda

  • Strong publication record at top-tier conferences

  • Comfortable with ambiguity and self-motivated
