Intel Security Application Engineer in Hillsboro, Oregon

Job Description

The Security Application Engineer will be joining the ISV & Customer applications enabling team in the Platforms Security Division, a Center Of Excellence for developing and enabling Security technologies for several Intel products such as Servers, Workstations, IoT devices, PCs. You will make computing secure and ensure preference for Intel platforms across marquee and emerging workloads such as AI/ML/DL, Blockchain, ADAS, 5G.

In this role, you will:

  1. Work directly with ISVs & Customers that include Cloud Service Providers, Enterprises, Telcos to help them integrate Intel's state-of-the art platform security technologies into their applications.

  2. Create/develop and manage a compelling set of current and next generation capability and usage demos to evangelize with partners at events, tradeshows, webinars, hackathons, etc.

  3. Help ISVs and Customers with technical integration by trouble-shooting issues that are reported, and managing communication with our partners on status of reported issues.

  4. Work with marketing and engineering leads to define, develop, maintain and deliver technical training collateral such as Sample Code, Whitepapers, Webinars, Tutorials to customers, internal Sales teams.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelors in Computer Science/Computer Engineering or relevant discipline with 6 years or a Masters with 4 Years or a PhD with 2 years of relevant experience.

  2. Proven hands on experience in native C/C++ programming in both Linux and Windows environments.

  3. Fundamental understanding of software stacks and how software and hardware work together.

  4. Solid written and oral communication skills and ability to articulate software improvements and hardware benefits to customers and showcase the value-add of Intel Architecture.

  5. Results orientation, capable of synthesizing and abstracting complex information into clear messages.

  6. Good understanding of computer networks and system software.

  7. Adept at diagnosing and debugging software issues.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Good understanding of Hardware architectures, especially Intel Architecture.

  2. Good understanding of Hardware based security technologies such as TEE, TPM, TXT, etc.

  3. Experience with all levels of the software stacks: - hypervisors such as Xen and KVM - OSes such as Linux, CentOS, Clear, Win IoT Enterprise/Core - Cloud-native app dev platforms such as Kubernetes, Docker, Open Stack

  4. Good working knowledge of security standards PKI, Crypto and their applications.

  5. Experience working on Blockchain or related technologies.

  6. Security certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, CompTIA Security+ are a plus.

  7. Experience contributing to Open Source projects.
