Intel Senior Neuromorphic Algorithms Researcher in Hillsboro, Oregon
Intel Labs is seeking leading computational researchers to pioneer a new class of algorithms targeted for our neuromorphic processors under development. Our goal is to exploit neuromorphic and related non Von Neumann architectures to solve real-world problems with orders of magnitude gains versus the best known conventional solutions. We are interested in a wide range of computational domains spanning neural network pattern matching, online and on-chip learning of all forms, probabilistic inference, sparse coding, functional approximation, and dynamic control algorithms. We have a similarly broad application space in mind including vision, autonomous vehicles, robotics, and large-scale scientific and big data problems.As an algorithms researcher in our Neuromorphic Computing Lab, you will be responsible for developing practically useful algorithms by drawing from state-of-the-art computational neuroscience and machine learning understanding. This work will often involve collaboration with Intel's external academic and industry partners with hands-on work spanning high-level modeling to bare-metal programming. A strong understanding of conventional computing architectures, algorithms, and machine learning will be very important for success.
PhD in Computational Neuroscience, Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or a related field.
At least three years of post-grad industry or academic work experience.
Expertise in Python, Matlab, and OOP languages.
At least one year of experience modeling spiking neural networks.
Working knowledge of deep learning and/or other machine learning methods
Publication record that demonstrates a history of creative algorithmic innovation.
Strong grasp of computational fundamentals, computer architecture, and dynamical systems.
