Intel Senior Software Engineer (Distributed Systems) in Hillsboro, Oregon
Intel Next Generation and Standards NGS organization is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with expertise in Distributed Systems, responsible for designing & developing middleware software for our advanced, next generation, connected compute platform.
This position works on a small team and play a key role in shaping the future of Intel's technologies & products by closely collaborating with internal and external partners. This role will be designing and building state-of-the-art technologies & solutions to enable new and emerging real-time computational workloads across distributed, networked elements. This position will also create software solutions & implementations while contributing to software designs, algorithms, and interface specifications.
This role will also be responsible for participating in design trade-offs and technology selection while working closely with Software Architects & other team members to meet program objectives on functionality, quality & schedule.
BS, MS or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering, or other related field of study. 5 years with a BS Degree, 4 years with a MS Degree, or 2 with a PhD with the following prior Industry/software development experience:
3+ years of expertise and prior work in one or more areas of distributed systems such is in distributed file systems, resource management, programming models, performance analysis/tuning, etc..
Solid understanding of modern operating systems such as Linux and scalability techniques.
Strong programming skills with demonstrated expertise in TCP/IP programming.:
Demonstrated technical understanding of networking principles
Prior experience with distributed systems frameworks, and programming using ONE OR MORE of the following: Python, C, C++, GO, JAVA, Rust, grpc etc.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Prior work experience with Open Source software.
