The Simics simulator team within Intel is looking for a Senior Staff Software Engineer to join our team working on IA virtual platforms simulator. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a team for enabling and optimizing simulator's code of the latest Intel Architecture platforms. Our development team is being represented in 5 different GEOs.

Job responsibilities will include, but are not be limited to:- Working hand-in-hand with a group of experienced engineers to extend the simulator capabilities and model correctness.- Simulator features design, prototyping, implementation, and maintenance, support of architectures. - Carry out competitive performance analysis, root causing and bug resolution including customer bugs. Interactions with customers outside Intel can be expected. - Analyze specifications of upcoming Intel devices. Working with Intel software and hardware design engineers and architects to deliver the next generation of our processor and platform designs. - Interfacing with members of other tools and application teams within Intel as required.



You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed can be obtained through school work, classes and project work, internships, military training, and/or work experience.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's 8+ years' experience in SW engineering across the product lifecycles or Master's Degree 6+ years or PhD 4+ years in Computer Science or equivalent-

  • Expert level software development skills, such as knowledge of programming tools, languages and environments

  • 5+ years of C/C++ programming experience

  • Demonstrated of with Python

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge in computer architecture and microarchitecture:

  • Intel x86/Intel x64 Core and/or Atom preferred. –

  • Hands-on experience developing compiler or simulator prototypes.

  • Virtual platforms development experience.

  • Working with FPGA models of any IP blocks or bigger systems simulation.

  • Experience in one or more core technologies such as tools, IA architecture, FW, Windows or Linux kernel debug, networking etc. and virtualization.
