Software Engineers conduct or participate in multidisciplinary research and collaborate with design, layout and/or hardware engineers in the design, development, and utilization of productivity enhancement layout tools and design rule checkers, electronic data processing systems software. Determines computer user needs, advises hardware designers on machine characteristics that affect software systems such as storage capacity, processing speed, and input/output requirements, designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Responds to customer/client requests or events as they occur. Develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education, judgement and formal software process.
The Data Center Group's High Performance Computing (HPC) System Software Team is looking for someone to join us to help us build solutions that enable super computers to solve some of the world's most challenging scientific problems such as climate research, bio-medical research, genome analysis, and renewable energy. Intel is delivering Exascale class systems and we need your help to deliver next generation in HPC software and solutions.
We have need of a developer who will design, develop, test, and modify software systems or applications that are specifically focused on a unified System Management solution for High Performance Computing systems, called a Unified Control System. You will use current programming language and technologies to write code and develop solutions, be responsible for testing and debug of applications, as well as create documentation on installation and maintenance.
This position involves work on a U.S. Government contract which may impose certain security requirements: If you are a U.S. citizen, the government may require that you certify that you are a U.S. citizen. If you are not a U.S. citizen, the government may require you to pass a security check before you can be approved to work on the project.
� BS/MS in STEM or relevant education
� 4 years of related software development experience
� 2+ years' experience in engineering software development in the areas of enterprise, cloud and/or HPC.
� 2+ years’ experience with Linux sub-systems, basics of kernel and internals
� 2+ years’ programming experience with a variety of languages: Java, C, C++, Python
� 2+ years’ experience with RESTful program interface
� 2+ years’ experience with parallel programming model
� 2+ years’ experience with SDLC and industry-standard SW design principles
� 2+ years’ experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery
Preferred Qualifications (any one of the below would be extra credit):
� Strong technical and communication skills, both oral and written

� Excellent Problem-Solving skills
� Java SE or EE Programming experience

� Experience in Cloud or HPC with Security
