Job Description

Located in the Scalable Performance CPU Development (SDG) organization, the Multi-Chip I/O (MCPIO) team is looking for an experienced Firmware development to help bring High-speed I/O interconnects to market.

In this position, your responsibilities will include: Working with Architects and micro-architects to implement I/O training algorithms in firmware. Working with Design, Validation and SoC partners to develop working firmware to bring I/O’s from reset to functional datapath in a pre-si environment. Partnering with System Validation, Electrical Validation, and High Volume Manufacturing to design a comprehensive firmware suite to support bringing the I/O to market.

The successful candidate requires an established background of developing Firmware and bringing products to market. They need to be someone who is passionate about working in a dynamic environment where the expectation is to contribute in any activity that makes the business successful. Candidate must have strong communication skills verbal and written, teamwork skills, be a self-starter, and have the capability of managing a dynamic work environment.


You must possess the minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position.

Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Relevant experience can be obtained through school work, classes and project work, internships, military training, and/or work experience.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Candidate must have a Bachelor, Master or PhD Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field.

  • 3 or more years of hands-on experience with Firmware Development

Additional qualifications:

  • Experience with High Speed I/O Design

  • Mixed Signal Design or Validation Experience

  • Experience with I/O training algorithms
