Intel System Quality & Reliability Intern in Hillsboro, Oregon
Develops, applies, and maintains Quality and Reliability (Q&R) standards for processing materials into partially finished or finished product. Evaluate the materials, process and techniques used in production to meet the requirement of products and production equipment. Specifies inspection and testing mechanism, conduct quality assessment (up to and including audits) and perform statistical analysis to determine the responsibility for products and systems that do not meet required specifications. Delivers standardization in product qualification, manufacturing quality systems and methods.
A System Level Soft Error Test Engineer provides leadership in the planning and execution of accelerated soft error test campaign at the system level to characterize the critical failure rates due to soft error and the validation of error handling and correction features in the hardware and software stacks. The candidate must be willing to travel through out the internship.
Primary Responsibilities of the position include:
Review Intel product roadmaps and identify and prioritize key systems for accelerated Soft Error Rate (SER) tests.
Propose SER test campaigns that aligns with needs of the company's SER reliability objectives and goals.
Schedule and reserve time at high energy neutron facilities, high energy proton facilities, and thermal neutron facilities for accelerated testing.
Secure hardware and software necessary for the accelerated testing by leveraging resources from different Business Units (BU's)
Manage the logistics for hardware shipment and return to and from accelerated SER test sites
Define accelerated SER test plan and manage the execution of the tests
Publish reports and key findings
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Relevant experience can be obtained through school work, classes and project work, internships, military training, and/or work experience.
The candidate must pursuing MS Electrical Engineer, Computer Engineer or related field.
Minimum 3 months of experience with Computer architecture.
Minimum 3 months of experience in Object Oriented Programming and Scripting
Hands on computer hardware experience.
Basic understanding of radiation effect on computer hardware.
