Intel Systems Engineer in Hillsboro, Oregon

Job Description

This position is with the lab hardware enabling team within a software organization.

Your roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Design and develop electronic or electromechanical equipment or systems oriented products and prepares related installation, operation, and maintenance specifications and instructions, analyzes equipment to establish operating data and conducts experimental tests, analyzes engineering proposals and related technical data to determine feasibility of assigning new equipment or modifying existing equipment. You will be responsible for prototype construction and checkout, complies operational data and prepares customer application information. You will manage all aspects of physical/environmental safety compliance for local labs. Troubleshoot system issues related to hardware, OS, driver, BIOS, application, etc. Execute test cases and review logs to determine pass/fail conditions and 1st step debug/triage, setting up and improving automation for data collection and data processing. You will drive day to day business needs by managing processes and/or workflow. You will respond to customer/client requests or events as they occur. You will develop solutions to problems utilizing formal education and judgment.

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through relevant previous school, industry jobs and/or research experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or computer engineering or relevant discipline with 4 years of experience degree or Masters of Science in Computer Science, computer engineering or relevant discipline with 3 years of experience

  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware components and its standards.

  • Proven success in test development, validation engineering, systems build, lab management, or systems administration.

  • Solid experience in measurement and test skills in a lab environment, administration of Linux and Android operating systems and troubleshooting different aspects HW/OS related issues.

  • Experience with documentation including datasheets, layouts, test procedures, reports and application notes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience with Intel pre-production hardware platforms

  • Previous experience with Intel flashing/updating tools and procedures

  • Previous experience working inside Intel Product Group labs

  • Creating technical documentation

  • Ability to resolve complex issues that have no documented solution and share BKMs
