Job Description

Intel is seeking a qualified candidate to join our Data Center Group DCG team as an Entry Level Thermal Engineer in the development of commercial server for the next generation world class computing demands.

In this position, you will be a member of the Systems Engineering in Platform Hardware Engineering Division PHED team in Datacenter Engineering Group DEG.

With a strong technical background, you will be working with a Senior Thermal Engineer that delivers thermal solutions for HPC, Cloud, AI and Storage servers.

With thermal workload increasing, there is the demand to extend traditional air cooling and development of liquid cooling solutions.

You will be a contributor through predictive analysis and direct testing of systems to provide the best solution.

What you will do:

  • Assemble Test units for evaluation by engineering teams

  • Configure Rack to conduct L11 testingInstrument

  • Test Units for thermal and mechanical testing

  • Instrument Prototype boards for engineering evaluations

  • Create Models for system analysis on Air Flow, Temperature Gradients, etc.

  • Follow thermal and mechanical test plans and document results

  • Maintain Lab Equipment and Data Acquisition Systems

  • Program scripts for data interpolation

  • Assist in the trouble shooting a test unit when not functioning as expected

  • Assist in the dynamic lab

  • Other lab related duties as required to support the thermal engineering team

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position.

Qualifications listed as preferred or additional will be considered a plus factor for applicants.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or similar major with 1 years + of experience in the following areas

  • thermal/mechanical lab test experience

  • Assembly of electro-mechanical assemblies

  • Proficient with Excel required to visualize data

  • Lab View Programming experience required

  • Python Programming experience highly desired

  • Test plan execution

  • Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration skills in a design team

Additional Qualifications:

  • Flotherm experience desirable

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
