Come and join us! Intel is seeking highly qualified candidates to join our Data Center Group (DCG) as a Visual Cloud Software Engineer to join our Visual Cloud SW Engineering (VCSE) team!

VCSE defines, engineers, and delivers DCG Graphics and Media based offerings which include Display, 2D, 3D, and Media Transcode platforms, for dedicated Servers, Appliances or Virtualized Cloud environments. We build the software stack that helps companies deliver solutions for Media and Media transcode - Media content creation and delivery, Cloud graphics - Cloud Gaming, Remote desktop and remote workstations, Media/Graphics analytics and Immersive Media AR/VR content generation and delivery.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Work with cross-functional, cross-geo teams to architect, design, develop and deploy Gfx/Media/Immersive Media SW stack.

  • Responsible for the research, prototyping and design and implement use cases in Media/Immersive Media VR/MR and Media Analytics to enable product definition.

  • Work on enhancing CI/validation automation to enable productization of the SW stack.

The Data Center Group (DCG) drives new products technologies from high-end co-processors for supercomputers to low-energy systems for enterprise and the cloud, as well as solutions for big data and intelligent devices. The group is a worldwide organization that develops the products and technologies that power nine of every 10 servers sold worldwide.

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates


Minimum Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or equivalent with 4 plus years of industry experience or a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems with 3 years related experience, or PhD plus or equivalent with industry experience.

  • 4 plus years of experience in C/C++ and scripting languages.

  • 4 plus years of experience in Linux, Windows OS architectures, development tools and methods.

  • 4 plus years of experience in developing applications and/or drivers for these operating systems.

  • 2 plus years of experience in one of the following areas:

  • Experience with media codecs such as, AVC, HEVC, VP9, and MPEG-2, Media Frameworks such as, FFmpeg and Gstreamer, and OpenCL.

  • Experience in 2D/3D graphics technologies and standards such as, OpenGL, OpenGL ES, OpenCL, OpenVG, DirectX, DShow 9/11.

  • Knowledge of VR SDKs and VR Ecosystem, CUDA, Image processing/CV techniques.
