Job Description

The Windows Operating System Division WOS is searching for passionate, energetic, and self-driven OS Software Engineers. In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the architecture, development, implementation, and debug of new features and functionality in the Windows* Operating System. You will be working closely with engineering and architecture leads from the product groups at Intel and Microsoft to define and enable power management technologies for the next generation devices and Intel SOC's on the Windows* OS. Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Driving the engineering engagement with Intel product teams and Microsoft to design, develop, and debug next generation products and technologies.

  • Working with Intel software and hardware design engineers and architects to shape the next generation of our processor and platform designs.

  • Enabling processor and platform features for core Windows* OS and Virtualization products.

  • Providing Windows* OS expertise and hands-on debug support to Intel product teams. Developing next generation feature prototypes for use in early validation and value assessment on Windows.

This is an entry level position and will be compensated accordingly.


You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Candidate must have a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or other science/engineering related field.

  • Bachelor's Applicants must have a legal right to work in the US without sponsorship.

  • 6 months experience or equivalent coursework in the following areas:

  • Programming in C/C++ computer and processor architectures

  • OS fundamentals, OS internals, and OS-level APIs

  • OS Architecture and Software Architecture

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Intel Architecture Platform Architecture Expertise or experience in one or more Power Management domains HW, BIOS, Device Driver, OS, Platform is highly desired
