Come and join us! Intel is seeking highly qualified candidates to join our Data Center Group (DCG) as a Software Application Engineer!

In this position, you will be joining the Communications Infrastructure Division CID Data Plane Application Engineering Team and will be responsible for enabling the next generation telecommunications platforms based on SDN & NFVI implementing Intel silicon ingredients with CID Tier 1 customers with a focus on data plane and cryptographic software development and optimization support.

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Responsible for product design-in and debug support of customer platform SW designs.

  • Providing technical assistance on the development and optimization of Data Plane and QAT algorithms running on IA processors and chipsets.

  • Establishing a technical trusted advisor relationship with key CID customers.

  • Answering customer technical questions during the design-win and design-in phase of the platform SW development.

  • Providing technical training to Customers and Intel Field Engineers-Participating in cross functional customer teams with the goal of maximizing MSS with key CID customers.

  • Responsible for the generation and maintenance of product enabling collateral including development of Data Plane and/or QAT software example designs, bug fix patches and demos.

  • Proactively influence CID product line feature set and collaterals with key customer requirements.

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent with 1 plus years of industry experience or a Master’s degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent with industry experience.

  • 1 or more years of experience with communications software design, software applications engineering and/or IA Processor & Chipset software validation.

  • 1 or more years of Experience with Linux Driver and application development in Kernel and User Space.

  • 1 or more years of Experience with software optimization tools and techniques such as VTune.

  • 1 or more years of Experience with BIOS, low level programming and run time control tools ie: ITP or JTAG and packet generation test equipment such as IXIA, T-Rex.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1 or more years of experience and fundamental understanding of Intel Architecture Processors and Chipsets.

  • 1 or more years of design experience or working knowledge of Intel Architecture systems, chip sets, NIC's or processors.

  • 1 or more years of experience and a fundamental understanding of Intel Platform Technologies such Data Plane Development Kit DPDK , Quick Assist Technology QAT as well as SDN and NFV technologies.

  • 1 or more years of experience and in-depth understanding of communications platforms software/hardware architecture and protocols.

  • 1 or more years of experience and knowledge of PCI, PCI-Express*, DDR4 memory interfaces.
