Intel Design Automation Engineer in Phoenix, Arizona

Job Description

Develops and tests Engineering Design Automation tools, creates flows/scripts to analyze and test design methodologies. Evaluates vendor practical capabilities to provide required products or services. Responsible for designing, deploying and testing efficiency of tools to utilize in achieving design goals and collaborating with design teams on methodology development. Design Automation Engineers are advocates of applying design methodologies to help execute projects effectively and successfully with high quality.

Keys responsibilities

Include but are not limited to:

� Work closely with design and validation engineers to understand requests and how they translate into application/flow features

� Collaborate with a team of engineering professionals to set specifications for and develop new applications/flows

� Develop and recommend design usage methodologies

� Write high quality source code to develop, enhance and/or fix applications/flows within deadlines

� Perform code reviews, functional and non-functional unit and integration testing before launch/release

� Troubleshoot and debug issues

� Evaluate existing applications to reprogram, refactor, update and/or add features to improve functionality, performance and/or efficiency

� Develop technical documents and training for users and developers

Behavioral skills:

� Good communication skills with design, validation and other technical teams

� Work under tight time constraints and be able to prioritize accordingly

� Driven to do the right things right

This is an entry level position and will be compensated accordingly.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.

Minimum requirements:

-Candidate must posses a Masters or PhD in Computer Science/Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or related degree.

  • At least 1+ year of experience with:

Scripting languages, e.g. Python, Perl, TCL

Experience with Front-End SOC design processes

Unix environment, including Makefiles

Agile methodology

Proffered qualifications:

Experience with Front-End SOC design processes

Experience with SystemVerilog, Verilog or VHDL

Experience with metadata language, e.g. XML, YAML, JSON
