You will work with Intel business units PEG, DCG, CCG, SSG, NTG, NSG, ADG, IOTG, AIPG, and PSG in accelerating product and technology development in a diversity of critical products in strategic growth areas.

Software Engineers conduct or participate in multidisciplinary research and collaborate with design, layout and/or hardware engineers in the design, development, and utilization of productivity enhancement layout tools and design rule checkers, electronic data processing systems software. Determines computer user needs, advises hardware designers on machine characteristics that affect software systems such as storage capacity, processing speed, and input/output requirements, designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Responds to customer/client requests or events as they occur. Develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education, judgement and formal software process.

You must possess the minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Relevant experience can be obtained through school work, classes and project work, internships, military training, and/or work experience. This is an entry level position and will be compensated accordingly.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • MS in Electrical or Computer Science/Engineering with 1 year of experience - or - BS in Electrical or Computer Science/Engineering with 3 years of experience.

  • This U.S. position is open to U.S. Workers Only. A U.S. Worker is someone who is either a U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, U.S. Lawful Permanent Resident, or a person granted Refugee or Asylum status by the U.S. Government. Intel will not sponsor a foreign national for this position.

  • Demonstrated solid expertise in C/C++.

  • Expertise in lower middleware/drivers/FW development

  • Solid OS fundamentals

Preferred qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in product development and thorough in PLC

  • Expertise in driver/middleware

  • Linux development of architectures IXP, IA-32, IA-64, and others experience with Linux platform debug experience

  • Experience of modifying the Linux* kernel, proficient programming skills in the C programming language

  • Experience with open source software development

  • Windows driver development experience

  • SOC development/integration experience
