Job Description

A successful candidate is responsible for working with authors and project managers to design, write, revise or edit technical content (i.e., application papers, product descriptions, catalogs, manuals/guides, commercial applications, brochures, product articles, etc.). Analyzes and interprets data to determine appropriate syntax, style, and grammatical usage. Recommends and implements changes to content for better understanding by target audience on hard copy or electronic medium. Performs tasks related to construction of technical illustrations and graphics.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Working with technical content providers to prepare technical user guides, release notes, quick start guides, presentations and other documents containing text, data, drawings, diagrams, and charts

  • Taking documents through a workflow to prepare for final publication in PDF and Web formats

  • Tracking the work of multiple authors to deliver content on schedule

  • Creating and updating voice-over PPT, eLearning, video-based training material

  • Serving as editor/preparer of documents in different formats based on defined style and legal requirements

  • Acting as documentation expert, consultant, and program/project manager

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Relevant experience can be obtained through school work, classes and project work, internships, military training, and/or work experience.

Minimum Requirements:

  • BS or higher in English, technical writing or technical communications

  • 6+ years of experience designing, writing, and publishing technical documentation, with at least 2 years in computer hardware/semiconductor field

  • 3+ years of demonstrable experience on Windows or Unix

  • 3+ years of experience using standard authoring tools and systems like DITA, FrameMaker, MS Office, Visio, Alfresco, Adobe Captivate, oXygen Editor, SmartDocs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in instruction design, audio-visual editing
