The VR programmer will join the CS L&D team and will be part of creating the first VR training studio at Intel intending to develop new VR capabilities for training purposes. The VR programmer will work closely with the VR creative, program/project managers, instructional designers, and key stakeholders;
The VR creative will support the foundation of VR training at Intel. He or she will be challenged to build lasting, scalable solutions that integrate with legacy systems and take VR delivery from the realm of demos and PoCs to serious pilots and production implementations.
They will be responsible to develop/design concepts and approaches to a variety of VR courses that incorporate immersive interactions. Must have experience in VR development with project management skills and the ability to work on multiple tasks at the same time, great communication skills and thrive in a global multi-faceted environment.
End-to-end VR programming with Unity (Unreal an advantage) of new optimized functional and aesthetic VR training/simulations from concept through design, develop, implement & test to deployment and maintenance while driving technical excellence of the experiences
Write and maintain technical design and software system documentation.
Analyze and optimize systems as required, identify and proactively manage technical decisions, risks (bug fixes), actions and opportunities.
Collaborate with instructional designers/training teams/project/program managers and other roles on the team or with outsourced contractors domestically and internationally to imagine, build, and launch successful VR training solutions.
Work independently with ownership over the Unity codebase prototyping and features implementation.
Ensure scalable VR solutions that integrate with Intel's training systems.
Launch or export VR resources onto VR platforms, primarily the HTC Vive.
BS + 4 yrs. of exp.; MS + 3 yrs. exp. in software development with a degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or related degree.
Min 3+ years of experience with C# and Unity 3D (shipping some titles with Unity) - Unreal knowledge an advantage.
Strong analytical and coding skills, thorough working knowledge of software processes (development, configuration, testing and deployment).
Experience building VR apps for the Rift, Vive and/or WMR.
A solid understanding of core Unity concepts including component creation, animators, shaders, and performance profiling.
Understanding of a production cycle and ability to evaluate issues' severity.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, conceptual thinker who can bring ideas to life in new and inspiring ways.
Experience with project management, ability to prioritize tasks and provide efficient time estimates.
Strong leadership and stakeholder management capabilities.
Able to comfortably manage multiple tasks, communicate status, escalate issues and juggle competing priorities.
Strong team player with a "can do" attitude, and the flexibility to jump in wherever needed
Autonomous and proactive.
