Intel GPU Performance Modeling Engineer in San Diego, California

If so, Intel's Visual and Parallel Computing (VPG) group is looking for world-class software engineers to join our simulator development team. Here you will work on building a performance/functional simulator from the ground up for high-performance for Gen Graphics processors designed for a variety of workloads. These simulators are a critical tool for architectural exploration and providing a reference model for validation of the GPU. In this position, you will be responsible for design, coding, validation (including performance co-relation) and maintenance of cluster level models in the GPU pipeline. The job will involve intense engagement with IP architects, RTL design and Driver teams at all stages of the development cycle. The models you build will help internal and external customers explore new GPU use-models and expand into new areas of Deep Learning, Machine learning, Media servers, Augmented/ Virtual reality, etc - this position offers unique opportunity to impact these emerging application areas.
Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
Developing functional/performance models of graphics hardware in C++ or SystemC.
Working with Architecture/ Microarchitecture teams in performing studies on current and future generations of GPUs.
Enabling graphics driver and external OEMs to use this model.
Developing test plans, test writing and validating the reference models.
Working with the architecture, design and software teams for debugging issues and resolving them

Minimum Skills and Experience that we are looking for:
Bachelor's in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or related field with 5+ years of experience or Master's with 3+ years of experience or PhD with 1+ years of experience.
Your experience should be in the following:
Significant industry experience.
Understanding of APU/CPU/GPU hardware.
Strong C++ and/or SystemC coding skills.
Experience with performance and functional modelling.
Experience with scripting languages.
