What you'll do:
You'll be involved in in the development of modem architecture and reference model simulation for the Modem Hardware organization responsible for architecture and modeling of protocol layer signal processing algorithms for 5G NR New Radio, 4G LTE, and 3G cellular modem ASIC's.
Role would include responsibilities in one or more of the following areas:
Modem architecture modeling including data plane and control plane analyzing baseband signal processing data-path and control elements emphasis on 4G LTE and 5G NR and mapping to modem processing architecture including RTL micro-architecture and HW/SW partitioning
Modem system modeling in SystemC and C++ with different level of abstractions to model both functional behavior and cycle accurate behavior including architecture-specific details and serve as verification reference for modem RTL design
Refinement of signal processing algorithms to optimize for product implementation including power efficiency, area efficiency, throughput optimization, and time-to-market
Provide ideas for micro-architectural feedback to RTL team to optimize architecture
Support system modeling infrastructure to include capabilities such as instruction set simulator ISS for virtual prototyping, flexible simulator configuration, co-simulation with RTL SystemVerilog for bit-exact RTL verification, and plotting and debug utilities
- Support modem verification throughout ASIC design cycle including test plan definition and providing guidance to RTL and FW teams
Project deliverables may include specification documents, interface definitions, SystemC/ C++/Assembly code, test benches, test plans/test plan reports and toolsets

This position requires a BS or MS in Electrical or Computer Engineering with 3+ years of industry experience in the following areas, or PhD with demonstrated technical leadership and a Strong Communications System Engineering Background:
Expertise in wireless communications systems and standards, especially cellular communications 3G, 4G LTE, and/or 5G NR
Experience with communications systems simulation using C, C++, SystemC, Python, Matlab and/or other Simulation and Modeling Tools/Languages
Ability to comprehend complex wireless digital communications and signal processing algorithms and provide feedback/alternatives
Experience with software engineering design principles including object-oriented programming, design patterns, modularity, reusability, extensibility, etc.
Experience with mapping of signal processing algorithms to HW/FW implementation digital signal processor and/or dedicated HW datapath and ability to provide architectural guidance and modeling support
Debug and analysis skills
Experience with MAC/RLC/PDCP protocols is a plus
Experience in baseband modem design and verification
Experience with scripting languages such as Python or Perl- Experience with revision control systems such as GIT, ClearCase or SVN
Experience with Linux/Unix operating system
Experience in Verilog and/or System Verilog digital design, simulation and verification is a plus
