Intel is searching for an experienced self-motivated GNSS & Sensor Fusion Algorithm Engineer to join the Intel's Santa Clara GNSS Positioning Engine (PE) Team, within the GNSS Core & Products (GCP) division which is responsible for developing solutions for Intel's range of GNSS products primarily focused at the Smartphone, Tablet, PC and Wearable's markets.This senior level engineer will contribute to the design, algorithm & software development, enhancement, debug and test for inertial sensor augmented multi-constellation GNSS Positioning and Navigation software solutions for our current and future products.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Design, implementation and test of new features & enhancements contributing to in the development of Intel's world class GPS/GNSS & Sensor Fusion Positioning & Navigation mass market consumer products.
Architecture, design, development and optimization of GNSS & Inertial Sensor Fusion location & navigation algorithms within the Intel's GNSS Positioning Engine (PE) firmware.
Implementation, testing and analysis of new GNSS and/or Sensor processing algorithms running in high level language ("C" / C++).
Modelling, unit and system level test, validation and verification.
Work closely with other GCP Teams such a System, Measurement Engine, Hybrid Location, Validation, Field Test and Customer Support on cross-discipline design, development and diagnostic analysis activities.
Participate in within team and cross-discipline brainstorming, working with experts to develop innovative solutions.
Critical analysis of diagnostic of field test and or simulation of GNSS reference designs and implementations within customer devices.
Support of customer software release and verification activities.
Provide GNSS training and support to other parts of GCP and Customer Support teams.
The Santa Clara team works closely with other competence teams in Daventry (UK), Bangalore (India), Petah Tikva (Israel), and Singapore (Singapore).
Some travel to other Intel and customer sites will be required.

PhD or Masters degree in Math, Physics, Electrical/Computer Engineering with emphasis in IMU/Sensors, GPS/GNSS, or other related technical discipline with minimum 5+ years experience in the following:
GPS/GNSS positioning and navigation algorithm design and development
C and C++ coding design and development/debug and software engineering for high quality GNSS products
Experience and competence in estimation and navigation data fusion techniques (Kalman Filters, Least-Squares, Bayesian...)
Thorough understanding of stochastic modelling in GPS/GNSS Positioning and Inertial Sensor bias calibrations
Experience in algorithm prototyping and analysis within both MatLab and the C/C++ domains
Experience in debugging complex systems, efficiently and quickly, and optimizing the performance and robustness of existing algorithms and code to tackle real-world positioning estimation problems
Highly motivated with a strong background and passion for GNSS & Sensor Fusion Positioning software and algorithm modeling, benchmarking, implementation and validation
Some international travel may be required
Experience with GPS, GLONASS, SBAS, QZSS, Galileo and Beidou signal structures and GNSS Measurement Engine processing techniques
Experience with Machine Learning, development, training and validation
Familiarity with other location determination technologies, such as Wi-Fi, map-matching, etc
Familiarity with IS-801, RRLP, RRC and LPP A-GPS and A-GNSS Location Protocols
Familiarity with Spirent GPS/GNSS simulators, RF Replay systems, ULTS and ULTS-AD
Familiarity with industry standard GPS/GNSS formats/standards/interfaces (eg NMEA, Android Location Framework, RINEX, etc.)
Experienced with Windows and the Visual Studio tool chain
Familiarity with Linux and the gcc tool chain
Familiarity with git, Gerrit & Jenkins
Familiarity with Mac OSX and Xcode
