Intel Graphics Hardware Engineer and System Engineer in Santa Clara, California
The Systems and Solutions Assessments team within the Client Architecture and Innovation Group is seeking an experienced Graphics Hardware Development and System Engineer to join our team. You will be part of an exciting new group that assesses new discrete graphics innovation and user experiences for the Intel Architecture client computing platforms. This role requires specific background and expertise in graphics hardware system architecture, development, integration and validation. You will develop, analyze and assess future graphics hardware technologies and systems solutions for personal computing and define key experience indicators for the new technologies, proof-of-concepts and system designs. You will be responsible for assessing Intel’s discrete graphics innovation through use case assessments, optimized workflows and key user experiences. Also, you will collaborate with the client platform architects along with the platform execution engineering teams within the organization to integrate, validate and deploy the workflows and key experiences for Intel’s future graphics solutions. This position requires you to be self-driven, disciplined, hands-on, and have a creative problem solving mind-set. The candidate should also be self-motivated and possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
The graphics hardware system engineer will develop, evaluate and assess workflows for new graphics technologies, applications and systems for future personal computing platforms. You will ensure the platform and its graphics system have the best performance specifically focusing on graphics hardware components, system level integration and tuning for future user experiences. You will conduct research and development of next generation platform designs to continually improve Intel’s graphics performance for personal computing users. You will be responsible for evaluating and assessing multiple aspects of the graphics hardware solution stack, including system performance and responsiveness, and developing an optimized graphics system solution. You will work with various partners to assess key experiences for future upcoming discrete graphics devices by developing and analyzing workflows for graphics and recommending future hardware and system improvements. Also, you will be responsible for providing internal and external feedback for upcoming graphics features in yet-to-be-released systems to ensure our hardware will function and perform as expected on next generation platforms.
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed can be obtained through school work, classes and project work, internships, military training, and/or work experience.
Ideal candidates must possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Systems Engineering or equivalent with
3+ years of experience in developing graphics systems targeting personal computing users.
3+ years of personal computing graphics sub-system level architecture, hardware and system software integration experience.
3+ years optimizing graphics solutions in Windows OS.
2+ years of discrete graphics and GPU hardware testing, validation and debugging.
Familiarity of graphics solutions in Chrome and/or Mac OS environments and exposure to system level test, validation and debug infrastructure are essential.
Experience assessing new system technologies by defining and implementing workflows, methodologies, and key experience indicator targets highly desired.
Relevant experience in developing, evaluating and assessing end user representative workflows for new graphics technologies, applications and systems for future personal computing platforms.
