Job Description

Join Intel's Silicon Photonics Product Division team as a Laser Reliability Engineer. In this position you will be responsible for understanding and improving the reliability of semiconductor lasers to be integrated with silicon photonic integrated chips. You will be responsible for : performing FMEA analysis to assess Laser Design, Process and Materials. defining reliability tests, and failure analysis to provide insight into failure mechanisms as well as looking for statistical correlations between wafer level test data and reliability data the definition of improvement strategies and be expected to work collaboratively across laser design, epi growth, fabrication and test groups to fabricate, test, analyze and validate experiments to mitigate issues, both in terms of improving existing lasers as well as driving continuous improvement projects. The successful candidate will have strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in an interdisciplinary team, and a desire to succeed in a fast-paced professional environment. Excellent communication, documentation and presentation skills are required.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

You should possess a Ph.D or M.S. degree with equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Optical Science or related fields

4+ years of hands-on experience in design, simulation, and characterization of semiconductor lasers. Experience could be obtained through your educational level research and/or relevant job/internship experiences.

3+ years of experience in reliability testing and analysis of commercial semiconductor lasers

3+ years of semiconductor laser failure analysis and metrology.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in analyzing large data sets using statistical analysis tools
