Intel Lead SmartNIC Performance Architect in Santa Clara, California
Intel's Data Center Group (DCG) is looking for a lead performance architect for its next generation, advanced SmartNIC products.
The performance architect will be responsible for a global view of product performance including defining requirements, projections to guide architecture decisions, modeling and simulation, pre-silicon and post-silicon validation planning.
The candidate will be the primary point-of-contact to architecture, engineering and marketing stakeholders with a focus on performance metrics. With multi-disciplinary expertise across SW/HW architecture as well as product performance methodologies, the candidate is expected to have a strong impact on both architecture direction and performance validation, In addition, the candidate is expected to guide a small team towards architecture trade-off analysis and a high quality performance engineering process. This is a new project in DCG's Connectivity Group with opportunities to have a significant impact on next generation network components and large scale datacenter systems.
MS or PhD with a minimum 5 years of industry experience.
Academic background in Computer and/or Network Architecture.
Strong C/C++ programming skills, experience with hands-on SystemC modeling and analytical/spreadsheet modeling.
Expertise in server network subsystems with a focus on modern Ethernet NIC hardware architectures and Host-NIC interactions
Expertise in performance analysis methodologies particularly pre-silicon simulation techniques.
Experience must be in the context of end-to-end performance analysis in a hardware product development context.
Familiarity with data center networking usage models.
