Intel Library Design Engineer in Santa Clara, California
Component Design Engineers are responsible for the design and development of electronic components. Responsibilities may include:
The design of chip layout circuit design, circuit checking, device evaluation and characterization, documentation of specifications, prototype construction and checkout.
Modification and evaluation of semiconductor devices and components, performing developmental and/or test work, reviewing product requirements and logic diagrams, planning and organizing design projects or phases of design projects.
Responds to customer/client requests or events as they occur.
Develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education and judgement.
The successful candidate will participate in design, development, and delivery of standard cell libraries using world-leading process technology for use by Intel's product and IP design teams.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Design and implementation of combinatorial and sequential circuits based on Intel's process technologies.
Circuit extraction and optimization for power/performance/area/robustness-Library characterization build, validation, release, and support.
Development of automation for library validation, quality checking, performance and reliability verification.

This is an entry level position and will be compensated accordingly.
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.
• MS in Electrical Engineering, computer engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 1 year experience with VLSI circuit design, simulation and performance verification.
• Strong knowledge and one year experience in design and implementation of combinatorial and sequential circuits-Experience using standard design automation tools for one or more of the following areas: circuit simulation, cell characterization, physical design verification, and reliability verification
• 1 year experience working in the Linux environment. 3-6 months experience of scripting development TCL, Perl, Python for design automation
