Intel Mixed Signal Research Scientist in Santa Clara, California

Job Description

The researcher will:

  • Initiate the design, development, execution and implementation of scientific research projects to fuel Intel's growth in the areas of computing, communication, technology and manufacturing and new business opportunity.

  • Investigates the feasibility of applying scientific principles and concepts to potential inventions and products typically 7+ years prior to landing on a product road map.

  • Plans and executes laboratory research.

  • Maintains substantial knowledge of state of the art principles and theories, and contributes to scientific literature and conferences.

  • May participate in development of intellectual property.

  • May coordinate interdepartmental activities and research efforts.Typically holds a PhD.

Qualifications

You must possess the minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Relevant experience can be obtained through school work, classes and project work, internships, military training, and/ or work experience.

Minimum Requirements:

The candidate must be pursuing a PhD degree in Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering or any related field with a focus of at least one wireless standard and thesis in low-power wireless circuits with focus on digital friendly architectures for highly scaled CMOS.

Minimum 6+ months of experience in the following:

  • IC development tools for schematic capture and layout.

  • Advanced circuit simulation tools.

  • Mixed signal simulation tools and environments.

  • Lab test equipment and methods spectrum analyzer, o-scope, logic analyzer, etc.

  • System simulations using industry standard tools.

  • Layout verification and parasitic extraction tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additionally digital design with System Verilog or Verilog including VerilogAMS.

  • A modeling and development is desired but not required.
