Intel Optical Design Engineer Intern in Santa Clara, California
Responsibilities may be quite diverse of a technical nature. U.S. experience and education requirements will vary significantly depending on the unique needs of the job. Job assignments are usually for the summer or for short periods during breaks from school.
As an optical design intern, you'll be responsible but not limited to:
Lab testing of various passive and active optical and photonic components including discrete devices and integrated.
You will work closely with component and module design engineers for component characterization, optical sub-assembly testing, and data analytics.
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through relevant training and/or research experience.
Must have a MS in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Optical Science or related technical discipline.
6 months experience with following:
Optical & photonic component characterization
Optical and module testing
Knowledge/comfortable with optical simulation
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
Currently be enrolled in a PhD program
Good background in optical waveguide, semiconductor laser, electro-optic modulator, and PIN/APD photo detector
Previous experience in Silicon Photonics
Experience with statistical data analysis and process
