Intel Photomask/OPC Engineer in Santa Clara, California

Job Description

The Intel NVM (Non Volatile Memory) Process Technology Development group is responsible for developing state of the art NVM technologies like 3D-NAND & 3D-Xpoint. As a Mask/OPC development engineer within this organization you will be chartered with coding and maintaining software programs and tools supporting mask tapeout automation, OPC and RET algorithms, and mask data prep defining / ordering procedures for current and future NVM technologies.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Work with mask vendors to define photomask blanks and mask processes to maximize mask life in fab meeting technology needs

  • Define and maintain mask quality measurements and inspections

  • Define and data fracture operations and prepare mask data ready flows

  • Define and optimize mask order process

  • Lead and/or perform internal and external quality control audits

  • Understand OPC processes and interactions through the data prep flow from layout to mask

  • Coordinate mask technology development path with TD pathfinding & mask vendors

  • Define and manage qual procedure for mask changes


  • Experience in Photomask defining, development, ordering, and / or manufacturing.

  • Experience in Linux operating systems and batch job controls and monitoring.

  • Demonstrated ability to produce effective, efficient and flexible code to spec along with user interfaces and documentation.

  • Familiarity with Tape-out, OPC and Mask Generation Flows for High volume manufacturing.

  • Experience and expertise in standard programming languages such as Perl, Python, MySQL or any other languages like C, C++ in Linux.

  • Exposure to and understanding of commercial OPC program languages helpful, Mentor Calibre, Synopsys Proteus, Brion Lua of similar.

  • Good verbal & written communication skills with Excel, Visio & Power Point proficiency.

  • Education/Experience

  • BS/MS in EE, Physics, Computer Science, Material Science or Chemistry.

  • At least 5 years relevant industry experience in Photomask development, ordering, or manufacturing.
